Legacy Application Maintenance for a P&C Insurer of its Agricultural lines

The client is a leading US-based P&C insurer specializing in Agricultural lines of business.
Opportunity Summary
Our client has been using a few legacy IT systems to run its Agricultural lines of business. The IT systems handled Rating, Policy Administration, Claims, Billing and Reporting business processes. The platforms were getting outdated. It was becoming harder and expensive to obtain support and maintain them. Our client wanted to ensure the current IT systems supporting the ongoing operations were well maintained with reduced costs. It was important for the client to focus on more strategic business initiatives including modernizing its IT systems and effectively integrating newly acquired books of business. 
Discoverture Solution
The client selected Discoverture to provide a comprehensive solution.

Discoverture used a whole range of business knowledge and technology skills to quickly and independently take over the support activities.

Discoverture planned the knowledge transfer and transition to complete as soon as possible. It defined and gained consensus for a support and delivery process from the business and technology stakeholders.

In order to lower the costs for the client while providing a greater degree of scalability and responsiveness, Discoverture put together a support team operating in a global service delivery model in a 24 x 6 schedule.

Discoverture planned to maximize client’s benefits both financially and operationally over a period of 3 years.

Discoverture performed following activities as part of day to day operations. 
  • Maintenance and upgrades
  • Root cause analysis, troubleshooting and bug fixing
  • Performance tuning and improvement
  • Major and minor enhancement project requests
Discoverture global service delivery team consisted of about 10 people including an onsite Project Manager and one Team Lead.
